About Us

We love high-performance driving, hanging out with people who spend their free time talking about how to set up a car, optimal tire pressure and how take a turn faster. We also realize there are a lot of people who are looking for something more.  We want to help people experience the intersection of faith, hobby, and life as they hone driving and mechanical skills.   

One crisp Sunday morning in 2018 at Heartland Motorsport Park, I took a chance of embarrassing myself for the sake of following my faith.  At the end of the mandatory drivers meeting, I raised my hand and said, "If anyone is missing church this morning, I'll be holding speed church over here - it will take about 90 seconds."  

Most of the 70 people walked off to prep their cars.  But three people were curious enough to join me - one stranger, and two guys who drove in the same run group as me.  It wasn't a great turn out by typical church standards, but Speed Church was born.  Within 90 seconds, I  shared some wisdom from the Bible relevant to our event and prayed for our safety & patience on the track.  Fastest church ever, I believe...  isn't speed what high performance driving events are about?

I've made this same offer at several HPDE's since, and each time Speed Church has grown less awkward for me, and in attendance - 4, 5, 7 - which is still small, but begins to look like an actual group to others, and groups draw people.    

One Saturday, a guy waived me down while I was staging & said "looking forward to Speed Church!"  The next morning he attended, shared something he'd read and volunteered to pray for our largest group ever.  

I can't think of a better way to start a track day.

Now I'm working to share this concept with others who may be brave enough to engage people in a relevant and safe "church" experience.  A Church isn't a building - it is a community.  I hope you're interested in being part of it.
