Driving Life

If you love high-performance driving, hanging out with people who spend their free time talking about lap times, entry and exit speeds, tire pressure and braking zones, but also recognize there's something more to learn than how to go faster, you're in the right place.

Speedchurch is about seeing how faith can inform & improve doing what we love - pushing the limits while maintaining control.  It's about helping each other learn & grow as drivers and people in this crazy world.

Our Mission

To connect people participating in high performance driving events who want to become better drivers and better people.

Our Vision

A strong and growing community of drivers who respect each other, teach each other, and explore the relevancy of faith no matter what they're doing.

Upcoming Speedchurch Events

We will be posting our in-person events on Facebook and Twitter. Speedchurch is usually held Sunday AM after the driver meeting at HPDE events, but we also try to share Speedchurch insights in social posts.  Feel free to use info on this site info to hold your own SpeedChurch session.

Anyone Can do SpeedChurch! I promise you'll be thanked!

For anyone interested in holding "speed church" at an event, it is super simple - at the end of a driver's meeting, ask the question: "If anyone is interested in super fast church relevant to driving, we'll be holding speed church after the driver's meeting (or whenever).  It will only take 2 minutes." (or use the average time of a lap at the track).

Here are some quick topics relevant to drivers & a related wisdom from the Bible.  If you have any to add, please post them on our facebook page and I'll include them here as a future reference.

  • James 1:3, "For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow." Sometimes we're not making the progress we want, or the car just isn't running right.  These challenges are also opportunities.  Find something good to focus on and try to recognize what you can do and learn from the situation. Pray that everyone can find a way to grow as they prepare and drive today.
  • Proverbs 16:32 - "Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self control than to conquer a city."  Patience is often what we need to have better speed - whether it is waiting for that late apex, or braking a little more or a little earlier into a turn so we can accelerate out faster.  We also have to show patience when others aren't doing what we'd like then to do (like give a point!).  Better to have self control than to conquer a city - pretty amazing!  Pray that we can have patience, and that our patience and self control leads to better outcomes on the track and in life.
  • Ecclesiastes 4:9 - "Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. It is easy to get wrapped up in what we're doing or needing & miss opportunity to help others.  Other times, we don't ask for help when we could use it, and rob others of a chance to help.  Look for people who might need help and offer it.  If you need help, ask for it - drivers generally like to help each other.  Pray that we have open eyes for those who need help and humble hearts when we need help.
  • Exodus 20:17 "Don't lust after your neighbor's house, wife, or race car" (the Bible says donkey, but I think it translates).  Sometimes people feel like rules are just buzz kills, or exist to make life harder.  The reality is that the rules in the Bible give us guidelines to enjoy life more.  If we spend less time wishing we had things we don't, we can spend more time appreciating what we have and focusing on the fun our own things can bring.  Everything we have is a blessing.  Pray that we can appreciate others' toys without feeling worse about what we have.  Thank the lord for everything we have!
  • Hebrews 13:16 "And don't forget to do good and to share with those in need.  These are the sacrifices that please God."  Those of us who are blessed enough to have resources to spend time and money on high performance driving likely have resources that could help other people in need.  Let's make sure we're celebrating our gifts and giving thanks by being generous to others.  You'll likely find it as rewarding as a new best time.
  • Having faith is like going into a blind turn - you can't see or feel it until you are in it, but if you trust it is going to be there and commit to it, you'll experience the thrill of it.  Many people I've met struggle with the idea of having faith in something they can't see or prove exists with typical human scientific means.   Unfortunately, humans - even followers of Jesus who witnessed his miracles - struggle to believe things beyond their understanding. Luke recorded that when his disciples asked "how can we increase our faith," Jesus replied that you grow faith by being obedient.  It is as simple, and as hard as that.  Trust he is there, and do what he says - then you get to experience faith.

Supporters of Speedchurch

We're building a list of businesses that support SpeedChurch and/or who are owned/managed by people with SpeedChurch values.  Shoot us an email if you are or know one of those businesses!

SpeedChurch originated from a movement to spread the Word to everyone who hasn't heard it as simply as possible, and make disciple-making-disciples.  You can be a part of this by supporting NewGenerations financially or hold your own SpeedChurch.

Speedchurch Values

We believe we're called to treat people respectfully no matter what their race, background, or beliefs may be. We share wisdom, show patience, learn, assume everyone has something to contribute, and help those in need together.
